IN THE NEWS
Active
Gourmet Holidays was recently featured in the February issue of
"Destinations of the World News" in an article called "New age of
experience for specialist agents" highlighting AGH as a niche travel
provider. Jo-Ann Gaidosz was quoted as saying "What has really driven my
business is word of mouth, recommendations by people who have taken the
tours".
Newsweek Europe also featured AGH in their April 30th issue in an
article highlighting art and painting tours in Italy which have become the
rage as of late.
Singapore Airlines inflight magazine is also set to do a feature on
Active Gourmet Holidays - details to follow!
RECIPE OF THE MONTH -
"A SMALL TASTE OF PROVENCE"
MUSTARD SOUP
(Makes 1 litre or 4 cups) 1 litre water 2 chicken or vegetable broth cubes 125 ml (1/2 cup) creme fraiche 2 tablespoons mustard, with whole mustard grains 125 ml smeerkaas (spreadable cheese; you want it to melt well) 4 tablespoons cornstarch salt and pepper 1 spring onion, chopped bacon bits Bring water to a boil Cooking
Tip of the Month:Asparagus: Did you ever notice that asparagus
doesn't last long in the refrigerator? It is probably because you are not
storing it upright in a container of water. In this way it will last much
longer. Remember to peel the ends of thicker white asparagus. For green
asparagus, I always hold the stalks in my hands and bend them slightly. Take
notice of the bend and cut off that portion since that is the woodier, thicker
part of the stalks that you don't want. |
