Cabo San Lucas, Mexico - 7 nights Available February, April, December - Saturday to Saturday
Learn how to make delicious dishes from local chefs by participating in hands on cooking classes in a professionally equipped kitchen or outdoor kitchen under the palapa, both overlooking a 4 mile private beach. Or if you prefer, sip a cerveza or a glass of wine during class! In either case, you will be treated to some of the best food that Baja California Sur has to offer. You are here to relax and enjoy beautiful accommodations with wonderful views of the Pacific Ocean.
Your luxury home for the week has miles of beach so private it it unlikely you will see another person as you stroll through the surf, across dunes and around majestic rock formations. There are no giant hotels, beach vendors, jet skis or loud bars…just miles and miles of peaceful serenity literally steps from your hammock.
During whale season you will spot dozens of migrating whales so close you can hear them breach and tail-slap the Pacific—every day. Sunsets are breathtaking, the sound of waves harmonizing with breezes swaying the palms. Overhead, the night skies are so clear you could read a book by starlight. To the east, the Sierra de la Laguna mountains rise to over 6,000 feet, with arroyos and waterfalls to discover. SEVEN NIGHT ITINERARY DAY ONE
Arrive in Los Cabos (SJD), where you will be met and taken to your private resort. Once you have checked into your beautiful suite at, relax with a margarita around the pool or perhaps take a stroll on our beautiful and secluded beach. Dinner class begins around 5pm each afternoon, with a break to have a glass of wine and toast the setting sun. We use the top chefs from local restaurants, each teaching you their personal favorites. Classes are very informal, with the emphasis on you learning wonderful dishes you can easily re-create at home. DAY TWO Breakfast served on the patio overlooking the Pacific from 7:00am to 8:30am.
Planned Excursion: Leave the resort around 11:00 for a tour of Todos Santos, gallery visits and have lunch in town. Todos Santos is considered the "Sante Fe of Mexico" with dozens of artist galleries and studios. Prefer an alternative? See the Things to do instead section below. Dinner Class begins at 5:00pm. DAY THREE Breakfast served on the patio overlooking the Pacific from 7:00am to 8:30am.

Around 2:00 the local fishermen return to the beach in small open boats called pangas. It is quite a sight to see them ride the waves onto the beach at full speed, but the only way to get fresher fish is to catch it yourself and cook on-board. Here, we will buy fresh fish (generally yellowfin tuna, dorado or pargo) for tonight’s dinner. Prefer an alternative? See the Things to do instead section below. Dinner Class begins at 5:00pm. DAY FOUR Breakfast served on the patio overlooking the Pacific from 7:00am to 8:30am.

Dinner classes begin at 5:00pm DAY SIX Breakfast served on the patio overlooking the Pacific from 6:30am to 8:30am.
Today is a lazy, "do whatever you want" kind of day. We’ll have vans available to take you to town, or you can just hang out and relax. For lunch we will have a short class on tacos and ceviche for those who are around and still awake. Another option would be a day trip to the city of La Paz, an hour north on the Sea of Cortez. It is a wonderful city, with a beautiful walkway along the main street fronting LaPaz Bay. You can also take a small boat out to Los Islotes and swim with seals and sea lions in their natural habitat—it is extremely cool when playful seals dart around you while 30’ below the giant sea lions keep a watchful eye on their ‘ladies’. (This is an all-day trip and would leave at 8:00am and return by 5:00 for dinner class.
Dinner classes begin at 5:00 where tonight we will do something special, with a little Cajun attitude—your host is from New Orleans and loves to share his crawfish and corn chowder and blackened Dorado. DAY SEVEN Breakfast served on the patio overlooking the Pacific from 7:00am to 8:30am.
Today is whale watching time! Around 10am we will head down to Cabo and go out into the Sea of Cortez where, at this time of year, we are guaranteed to get up-close and personal with migrating California Grey Whales. Sure, we see them from our patio all day long, but from the boat we’re able to get closer—nothing like seeing these majestic animals breech from less than fifty yards away. It is one the most memorable days you will ever have. Dinner classes and our farewell dinner begin at 5:00. DAY EIGHT Breakfast served on the patio overlooking the Pacific from 7:00am to 8:30am. Depart for Airport—back to reality! Things to do instead ... For those who would like an alternative to the planned excursion, the following are available every day of your visit: *Fishing: Cabo is perhaps the most prolific sport-fishing destination in the world, with Marlin, tuna and Dorado (Mahi Mahi) biting year-round. We also have all the equipment for surf fishing right in our own backyard, along with plenty of instruction. *Golf: There are a dozen world-class golf courses around Cabo, with two or three courses always named in Golf Digests Top 100 of the World. We can provide tee times and transportation upon request. *Hiking: Want to do a little hiking and exploring? Four miles of pristine and secluded beach are at your doorstep, or you can follow the arroyos for about a mile to the foothills of the Sierra de la Laguna Mountains and climb small waterfalls and wade in streams for another ten miles. *Feeling Adventuresome? For the surfers—or wannabes—Cerritos Beach is several miles north of us and is the premier surf break in Southern Baja. Lessons are available. How about an Ultra-light flight? The extraordinarily thoughtful and accommodating host had arranged for a local chef to come each evening and instruct us in how to prepare a typical Baja Sur dinner. The instruction was frequently interrupted by the passage of whales outside the kitchen window! The elegant accommodations, remarkable service, and excursions made this a memorable trip ".
