Italy: Yoga and Cooking in Le Marche
Le Marche, Italy - 7 nights

Join Anna, a certified Kundalini yoga instructor and your hostess, for a week of hands-on cooking classes and yoga in the hidden region of Le Marche, Italy. Le Marche is a province in east-central Italy with rolling vineyards surrounded by walled cities, castles, history and breathtaking scenery. Your accommodations will be in a totally renovated traditional country home, with five en-suite double rooms and three self catering apartments. The atmosphere is peaceful, tranquil and ideal for yoga.

The medieval village where you will be staying is surrounded by olive trees and golden wheat fields. In your free time, you may want to take a walk, go bird watching or simply breathe in the fresh air. It is in this region that two very typical Marche wines are produced, Lacrima di Morro d’Alba and Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi, as well as olive oil, honey and many other fresh and seasonal products that make this area so very special.

You will enjoy two hands-on cooking classes with a local Italian in a professional, fully equipped kitchen. Learn the secrets of Marche cuisine using the freshest ingredients of the season, feasting on your creations after your lesson. A typical menu may consist of the following: Vincisgrassi (very soft lasagne), tagliatelle con sugo di papera (goose ragu) Coniglio in porchetta (rabbit with wild herbes) Arrosto misto (lamb, veal, rabbit) Gratin di verdure (roasted vegetables), tasting of typical cheeses and sausages such as Pecorino cheese and "Ciauscolo". Vegetarian cooking is also available. Please inquire.

About Your Instructor, Anna

Anna specializes in Kundalini Yoga as taught by Yogi Bhajan Singh Siri Sahib Khalsa. A Kundalini Yoga class is composed of both dynamic and still asanas (the same as Hatha Yoga), relaxation, meditation and mantra chanting. The "mother" school is in Los Angeles, but since the early 70's it has spread all over Europe and in Italy as well. Teachers certified by KRI (Kundalini Research Institute) are acknowledged and accredited in Italy by CONI-UISP, the national authority for sport, with a special branch for eastern sports, martial arts and so called "sport per tutti" (sports for all). Anna has practiced Kundalini since 1990 and also teaches Shakti Dance, the Yoga dance inspired by the energy of Mother Earth.

Kundalini Yoga, the most powerful form of yoga available, is considered the mother of all the styles of yoga. It focuses on awakening the Kundalini, the energy of consciousness (serpent power or Shakti) which is found at the base of our spine.
Kundalini yoga consists of ancient kriyas, or specially formulated sets of exercises which were secretly guarded and passed down through the centuries from yogi to yogi. It was brought to the West by Yogi Bhajan in 1969. Each kriya, or yoga set is designed to target specific issues, allowing practitioners to focus on exactly those aspects of their physical, mental or emotional state that need work at the current time. Any amount of time spent practicing - whether three minutes or an hour a day - produces significant benefits.

CLIENT REMARKS

"Dear Jo-Ann – The trip was absolutely wonderful and we couldn’t have had two greater hosts in Fabrizio and Anna. Fabrizio kept up the food and wine and Anna the laughs (she has a great sense of humor) and yoga which was fabulous. The chanting and meditation was so relaxing as were the rooms and the beautiful country house. The cooking was fun and eating it was even better. The chef, Fausto was an interesting character and I learnt lots. Jennifer was also great and we all got along famously, like a family, we ate together, laughed together and checked out the sights together. The local restaurants were yummy and we were made to feel completely at home. Thanks for offering such a wonderful experience." - Maria L., Australia

I definitely loved the variety of activities which included sightseeing, wine tasting, yoga, cooking and relaxation. This is a great excursion for someone who likes to experience a little bit of everything during their travels. The location is also beautiful and accommodations were perfect." – Jennifer M., San Francisco, CA
