Create dishes from our seasonal cookbook, be inspired by the vibrant market of Dijon, take a Master class with 1* Michelin Chef Laurent Peugeot at ‘La Charlemagne’, get creative with our traditional baker and dine out at 3* Michelin Restaurant ‘Bernard Loiseau’.

The beautiful 200 year old renovated home where you will be staying has been created specifically to accommodate tailor made vacations throughout the year, offering a variety of experiences from exploring the basics of French cooking to the famous wine auctions at the Hospice de Beaune, bread making days with Dijon’s top traditional bread maker and cooking experiences. Your experienced chef has had the unique opportunity to work in Marc Meneaus Vezely 3* Restaurant and has had a very successful business in the UK for many years. She has been included in the most prestigous cooking magazine in the UK and has appeared on the UK TV Cooking Channel, with several recipes published in the UK newspapers. As a result, she is frequently asked by the French Tourist Board to take part in demonstrations at their major Fetes.
Your chef and her husband would like to share their enthusiasm for French cuisine, wine and markets and wish to make their guests feel comfortable hoping that they will leave having learned enough during their stay to create their own little piece of France once they return home! This is truly an experience you will not soon forget and will cherish memories for a lifetime! ITINERARY Day One - Sunday Afternoon arrival at your beautiful home for the week by transfer from the local station provided by your hosts around 4:30pm, and enjoy the local Burgundian aperitif and a welcome chat.
There will be plenty of time to explore the village and meander along the canal before dinner, where we will discuss the weeks' program and delight in an introductory wine tasting with our wine expert Brendan Moore who will explain the confusing wine appellations of Burgundy's famous wines and a Gougere demonstration with your hostess. Day Two - Monday 
After a leisurely breakfast you will be preparing for your first culinary experience, learning how to combine fragrant herbs, pairing fabulous ingredients to create a wonderful lunch. Your hostess will then whisk you away on your first visit to the local village of Flavigny sur Ozerain, where they produce one of the oldest sweets in France – Anis de Flavigny. You will discover the Vignoble of Flavigny for a wine tasting in a relatively new vineyard. An interesting visit, a lovely story of a man passionate about wines. They are still young, but the enthusiasm and expertise of those who work there makes this a wonderful introduction to the passion of wine makers in Burgundy. On your return there will be plenty of time for you to take a stroll or bike around the village or, relax in front of the fire. Dinner will be cooked and served by your hostess and will include a demonstration focusing on the success of planning ahead! Day Three - Tuesday Today you will be heading off to Dijon and the colorful market that is held 3 times a week. You will be armed with your recipe book and a list of ingredients to seek out, testing your French! When your baskets are full a well earned café au lait awaits you before heading back via the Ducal Palace of the Dukes of Burgundy.
A rustic lunch will be enjoyed from the market out in the courtyard, and then you will be treated to a croissant making lesson with our local baker Frédérique before preparing supper using all the delicious goodies brought that morning. . Day Four - Wednesday
This morning our Wine expert will whisk you off to the Cote de Beaune and Cote de Nuits where your taste buds will be brought to life and you'll learn new techniques to appreciate wine. Burgundy wine lovers will appreciate this spectacular day with visits to vineyards you would not normally have access too.You will then be free for afternoon shopping in Beaune.
With a guided visit of the Hospice de Beaune the opulent hospital created by the Chancellor Nicholas Rolin . Day Five - Thursday After a delicious breakfast of local patisseries you will be joining Laurent Peugeot at 1* Michelin ‘Le Charlemagne’ for your 2nd culinary experience and lunch amongst the Vineyards of Pernand Vergelesses .
Chef Laurent Peugeot offers an inspiring concept of traditional Burgundian cusine with his own unique and inspirational fusions that he learnt during his time in Japan. He is a master and his food is divine. Laurent Peugeot served his apprenticeship with 3* Michelin chef Jacques Lameloise in Chagny and then in Japan. All Burgundy and Burgundy wine lovers will appreciate this setting in the heart of the vineyards. Dinner will be cooked and served by your hostess. Day Six - Friday This morning we shall be preparing a light lunch together and then you will depart with one of my regular guides to the Abbaye de Fontenay one of the oldest Cistercian Monasteries in Europe founded in 1118 by St. Bernard and now a Unesco treasure. On the return trip you will stop off at ‘Alexandre’ Chocolatier in the medieval town of Semur en Auxois for a private chocolate tasting where he will share the secrets of fine chocolate.
You will then be free to take bikes out along the Canal de Bourgogne, stroll through the countryside, explore the local Chateau or just relax by the pool. Our farewell supper will be the penultimate feast, a degustation menu at 3* michelin restaurant Bernard Loiseau in Saulieu Day Seven - Saturday Alas, all good things must come to an end and after breakfast we will be offering transfers to the train station in Montbard where you will be taken to Paris in time for lunch, and your new appreciation for all things French can be truly indulged!
