Florence, Italy - Day Cooking Classes

Discover the secrets of Italian cuisine by taking a hands-on cooking class in a family kitchen in Florence. Your instructor, who is Sicilian and now lives in Tuscany, will teach you about the steps involved in preparing a traditional Italian supper, including an appetizer (antipasto), pasta (primi piatti), main course (secondi piatti) and a dessert (dolci). You can choose to have a meat, fish or vegetarian dish as your main course. A delicious meal follows your lesson, where you can sit down and relax, dining on your creations. Our host also offers a gastronomic tour of Florence or a cooking class in a beautiful home in the Chianti Hills. Just ask for details!

 

 

Why is Italian food so extraordinary? It's the fresh, high quality ingredients and the simplicity of the recipe that makes it so appealing and tasty. In this class you will enjoy a cozy atmosphere and if you have a genuine passion for food this experience will be a memorable one as you discover a true Italian kitchen.
 
Once you decide you would like a class, we will send you a list of recipes so you can choose a favorite menu. Depending on the season you will learn to make bruschette, ravioli, tagliatelle, lasagne, cantuccini and a dessert such as tiramisù.You can choose to have a morning class with lunch (beginning at 10am) or an afternoon class with dinner (beginning at 3:30pm).

 

The experience lasts about three and a half hours, including the delicious meal that follows the lesson.

Coccoli con stracchino e prosciutto - Typical Florentine appetizer served with Tuscan ham and spreadable cheese
Tagliatelle al ragu - Fresh egg pasta with meat sauce
Pollo alla cacciatora - Chicken cacciatora
Torta al cioccolato - Chocolate cake

 

 

 

Pate di fegatini - Chicken liver patè
Pappa al pomodoro - Tomato bread soup
Bocconcini al vino - Beef stew with Chianti wine
Cantuccini - Almond cookies

 

Caponata - Eggplants, tomatoes and peppers Sicilian style
Ravioli ricotta e spinaci - Ravioli filled with spinach and ricotta cheese
Involtini di carne  - Meat rolls
Tiramisù

Nearest Airports:

 

Florence Peretola (about 10 minutes)
Pisa Airport (about 50 minutes) - there is a shuttle bus that connects Pisa Airport to Florence

Nearest Train Station: 

 

Firenze Santa Maria Novella - Just at the station's exit there is the tramvia's stop (called Stazione Alamanni) : 15 minutes from the home (the tramvia stop is called "Federiga")
