Kingdom of the Dukes of Burgundy where you will discover a patchwork of landscapes, valleys, rivers, canals and vineyards.
Exploring the local woodlands for mushrooms, becoming inspired by the colourful Dijon undercover market, waking the senses to the rich wines of this famous region all with your own personal guide and chef, Katherine.

She has been included in the most prestigous Cooking Magazine in the UK and has appeared on the UK TV Cooking Channel, with several recipes published in the UK Newspapers. As a result, Katherine is frequently asked by the French Tourist Board to take part in demonstrations at their major Fetes.
Katherine and her husband would like to share their enthusiasm for French Cuisine, Wine and Markets and wish to make their guests feel comfortable hoping that they will leave having learned enough during their stay to create their own little piece of France once they return home!

Our first of 4 Hands on culinary experiences will take place in the large kitchen and for lunch we will taste the fruits of our labour!
After lunch we will be visiting the beautiful, ‘Abbaye de Fontenay,’ the oldest Cistern Monastery in Europe, with its fabulous grounds and historic buildings.
This evening aperitifs and dinner will be cooked and served by you hostess.

Day Three - Tuesday
After breakfast we will be heading off to the Heart of the Dukes of Burgundies Home –Dijon, where we will be enticed into the undercover market to find the ingredients for our next hands on culinary experience.
Followed by lunch in a local restaurant and an afternoon free to explore the boutiques and mustard shops of this bustling town.
After our return, relax by the pool or meander along the canal while your hostess prepares dinner.

Day Four - Wednesday
With all our produce from the undercover market in Dijon we will have our second hands on culinary instruction and will taste this over lunch.
In the afternoon, we will be tasting local wines and exploring the village of Flavigny, where the famous film, ‘Chocolat,’ was made and the well-known French Sweets, Anis de Flavigny are produced.
You will notice the air filled with the perfume of aniseed when you are strolling around, this fortified medieval village which overlooks the surrounding area from where it is situated on top of the hill. A truly beautiful sight.

Day Five - Thursday
After breakfast, depending on the time of year we will be exploring the local woodland for mushrooms.
On our return we will prepare our earthy treasures together for lunch before heading off to taste some of Burgundy finest wines.
Afterwards there will be free time to browse in the centre of Town and then we shall head back for aperitifs and dinner at, ‘La Lochere.’

Day Six - Friday
For your last day we will be visiting the market in the nearby town of Montbard, purchasing fresh local produce to create our lunch on returning to, ‘La Lochere.’
In the afternoon a stroll around the Medieval Town of Semur en Auxois, rich in history, uncontested one of the most picturesque towns in France today having retained most of its original architecture and typical French charm, will work up an appetite for our farewell dinner in our favourite restaurant.

Day Seven - Saturday
Alas, all good things must come to an end!
After breakfast we will be transferring our guests to the train station in Montbard.

CLIENT REMARKS
| "Thank you so much for a wonderful, entertaining holiday. I enjoyed it so much and I did learn a lot and am putting it to good use. - Mabel, United Kingdom
|
| The property was quite lovely! The welcome was wonderful – just like walking into your own country home! Our room was beautiful, spacious & uncluttered, the showers were fabulous and the beds VERY comfortable. Breakfast choice was excellent – nothing else required! Both the lunches & Dinners were feasts and dishes that we can do at home. Your choices were varied and excellent. Lovely Wines and I loved how you matched it to the wines tastings of the day. We were relaxed enough to question what others in the group were cooking, and it was wonderful when it all came together on your beautiful dining table. - Tim, United Kingdom |
