La Bottega del Trenta Tuscan Cooking School
Italy: La Bottega del
Trenta Tuscan Cooking School
(Options: Day Cooking Classes, Monday through Friday
Cooking Week)
Tuscany, Italy - 1 to 5 days

La
Bottega del Trenta started as a restaurant in 1987 and only
10 years later, in 1997 it was awarded with one Michelin star!
The school was started in 1995 and even
Forbes promoted it in an article that was published in 1996 -
Since then the classes are not run in the kitchen of the
restaurant but in a separate building that hosts only the
attendees of our courses. The teacher is Helene Stoquelet,
the Michelin starred chef at the restaurant who also conducts
the classes at the school.
La Bottega del Trenta
Restaurant and Cooking School are located in Villa a Sesta,
a tiny village of only fifty people, thirty minutes from Siena.
Villa a Sesta is in the district of Castelnuovo Berardenga,
in the area where Chianti Classico wine is produced, only five
minutes from Brolio castle. This is an ideal location
to explore Chianti, as well as having shops 2 kms from the village
as well as banks, the post office, supermarkets, and more.
Learn
the secrets and techniques necessary for the preparation of unique
and sophisticated meals. Our recreational and hands-on
cooking courses are organized in the following manner
Monday - Appetizers
Tuesday - Soups and Sauces
Wednesday - Handmade Fresh Pasta
Thursday - Main Course
Friday - Desserts
The
courses are held in a specially designed cooking environment and
class size is limited to ten people per lesson. Courses can be taken
from Monday through Friday for the complete 5-day course or on a
daily basis.
Lessons are held from 10:00 a.m. to approximately 2:00 p.m.. Each
student has his/her own work space equipped with the necessary
utensils and ingredients.
At
the end of each lesson the students lunch in the dining room, eating
the dishes they have prepared and enjoying appropriately chosen
wines.
We also offer the opportunity
to learn the ancient culinary techniques of women of Chianti
district in an environment which reproduces a traditional kitchen,
complete with oven for baking bread, brazier and fireplace.
La Bottega del Trenta Cooking School also houses a wine
cellar and a library for students' use.
