Travel to Northern Italy for an Italian cooking vacation where hands-on classes with a professional chef take place in an amazing villa in the Veneto. Groups are kept small as you learn exciting dishes based on regional Italian recipes. In addition to daily cooking instruction, you will have guided visits to an artisan cheese producer, the famous Rialto fish and produce market, and a wine estate where you will have a tutored wine tasting. 

 

Your luxury accommodation for your six night culinary holiday is a magnificent 15th century palazzo. Frescoed ceilings, stone pillars, crackling fireplaces with each spacious en-suite bedroom impeccably designed with beautiful views of either the gardens or mountains.

 

Having been in the same family for over 500 years, the palazzo's "Contessa" will be happy to take you on a guided tour of this family home explaining its rich history.

  

Your cooking classes take place in a state of the art kitchen which opens onto the beautiful gardens of the villa. Each available week boasts a professional chef who will use the freshest ingredients in choosing the menus for your culinary adventure. 

 

The villa also has a very large built in swimming pool, with views of the Dolomite mountain range. A perfect setting for relaxing after your cooking classes with a glass of wine or prosecco!

SAMPLE ITINERARY

 

DAY ONE - SUNDAY

 

Welcome to bella Italia! You will be collected from Venice Marco Polo Airport at 4pm in an air-conditioned coach. Your fabulous cooking vacation in the Northern Veneto has begun! 


Upon your arrival to the palazzo, you will be welcomed with chilled Valdobbiadene Prosecco and regional cicchetti. 

 


You will have time to meet other guests with an introduction and will discuss recipes and ingredients for your upcoming cooking classes.

 

 

Enjoy a wonderful welcome dinner paired with top wines of the region. 

 

DAY TWO - MONDAY

 

Breakfast is served each day and includes freshly baked local breads, regional cheeses and salumi, freshly baked cakes or brioches, seasonal fruits both fresh and poached, granola and cereal, locally made yoghurt, eggs, tea and coffee, and freshly squeezed orange juice.

 

This morning is your first hands-on cooking class. You will use seasonal produce to create dishes that are local to the Veneto region. During the week we will also broaden your knowledge of Italian cuisine.

 

Lunch will be "al fresco", in a light airy space leading from the kitchen to the villa's manicured gardens.

 

 

Afternoon at leisure – take in the beauty of the surrounding countryside, swimming, walking or simply taking a nap!

 

 

In the early evening you will have another cooking class followed by dinner. The dinner will incorporate the dishes from the today’s classes

 

DAY THREE - TUESDAY


Breakfast followed by an early departure to Venice to visit the famous Rialto fresh fish and produce markets buying quality ingredients for your cooking lessons.

 

You will enjoy a private boat ride out to an island on the peninsula to sample a wine made from the ancient single grape variety Dorona, grown exclusively on the island.

 


Lunch will be a tasting menu at the highly acclaimed Vinoteca. 

 

 

Tonight's early evening cooking class will include fish and seafood bought from the market. Dinner will follow and will be paired with renowned Pieropan wines from this fabulous region of Italy.

 

DAY FOUR - WEDNESDAY


Breakfast is followed by a morning hands-on cooking class.

 

Lunch will consist of your cooking class creations.

 

 

This afternoon is yours to do as you please. Relax, read, swim...

 

 

Depending on the group, there may be a short cooking class before tonight's early evening Prosecco tasting with the one of the region’s leading wine producers. This is followed by dinner incorporating dishes from the morning’s class.

   

DAY FIVE - THURSDAY


Enjoy a delicious breakfast at the villa. Following breakfast you will partake in another hands on cooking class with your chef.

 

After the class you will be rewarded with lunch of your creations on the villa's terrace.  

 

In the early evening you will taste the delicious olive oils of the region followed by your second hands on cooking class of the day.

 

 

Time to go out on the town! Tonight's dinner will be at a local, family run restaurant serving delectable regional cuisine. 

 

 

DAY SIX - FRIDAY

 

Breakfast at the villa.

 

Today is a treat! You will have a visit in the morning to a fifth generation, artisan cheese-maker for a tour and a tutored tasting. 

 

Afterwards, return to the villa for lunch. 

 

Early evening cookery class followed by Venetian aperitivi and a farewell dinner of your creations paired with globally renowned Masi wines. 

  

DAY SEVEN - SATURDAY

 

Your Italian cooking vacation has come to an end but we hope the memories and recipes you have learned will last a lifetime.

 

Check-out is at 9am after breakfast.
