WALKING TOUR AND COOKING CLASS ON THE EXCLUSIVE ISLAND IN ROME

Spend a fabulous day on an exclusive island in Rome which is missed by most tourists. Your class will take place in a private apartment where you will learn Italian cooking techniques and the skills from your passionate chef. You will cook delicious Italian dishes focusing on making fresh pasta dishes.

The aim of the course is to give you the techniques needed to cook different pasta dishes as well as one meat dish (vegetarians can be catered to) that will give you the skills to make and cook delicious fresh pasta to impress your friends back home.

Before the pasta making class your host will take you on a walking tour of Rome’s food shops ending up at the famous Rome outdoor food market the Campo de' Fiori. Here you will discover the gastronomic delights of Rome.

Your meeting point will be in central Rome around 9.30am to start your walking tour of the local food and wine shops and the Campo de' Fiori market. Then you will head to the private apartment on the island for your pasta making cooking class.

Cooking classes run for around 4 hours followed by a sit down meal enjoying what you have prepared, accompanied by local wines from the region finishing about 3pm in the afternoon.

A FULL DAY COOKING EXPERIENCE IN A MEDIEVAL VILLAGE

Located a short drive away from the bustling center of Rome is a medieval village; an oasis of calm and beauty and the setting for your cookery course. Steeped in natural beauty, the village with its clean environment is a popular retreat for many Roman families looking to escape the hustle and bustle of Rome’s city center.

Under the guidance of your fun and friendly chef who is passionate about Italian cooking, you will immerse yourself in Italian life to discover the gastronomic delights of Rome. The aim of the cookery course is to give you the techniques needed to cook that will give you the skills to make and cook delicious dishes to impress your friends back home.

The day begins at a meeting point at 8.30am for the drive to the medieval village (30mins-1 hour drive depending on the traffic). After arrival the chef will take you on a walking tour so you can appreciate the beauty of the village and see where the local Roman city dwellers escape. During your walking tour, you will discover more about the local food shops, market and history of the village seeing life through a local’s eyes.

After your walk, you will head back to the cooking school to start your cooking lesson which lasts for around 3-4 hours after which you will sit down together and eat the delicious meal you have learned to cook accompanied by local wines from the region finishing about 3pm in the afternoon. Cooking courses concentrate on techniques and skills to make fresh, seasonal Italian dishes and rather than focusing on working from a recipe, your chef will give you the confidence to create your own dishes for a typical Italian menu from antipasta to dessert. At the start of your day, the chef will discuss her ideas for the day’s cooking and what you will cover during your one day cooking course.

After you have eaten, you will be driven back to the center of Rome, with new skills and knowledge that will stay with you long after the class is over.
