Why not experience the authentic Provence in a different way? Through a guided market visit followed by a cooking class at a beautiful renovated family "mas" (farm). You will first have the market visit and then return to the farm for a hands-on class where your instructor and host will share his delicious traditional recipes. This is a perfect activity if you already have accommodations but would like to include a memorable day with family and friends at a French home. Available on Wednesdays and Fridays but please inquire about other possible days.

 

The day begins at 9:30am on a Wednesday or Friday, with a pre determined meeting spot, followed by a visit to the local market where you will not only pick out your fresh ingredients for your class, but will meet the farmers and experience what the daily French way of life is like. You will also have a tasting of delicious regional products, with the day ending around 3:30pm after your fabulous lunch. (*Note: The St. Rémy market is on Wednesdays only and on Fridays the market is Eygaliéres which is only 10 minutes away and is also where the family farm is located).

 

Some of the recipes you will learn, depending on the season, are vegetable ratatouille, stuffed vegetables, artichokes and pork stew, asparagus and truffles, fried zucchini flowers, beef and wine casserole and much more! 

 

This area of southern France, called the Alpilles, is considered the "gem" of Provence. So consider a visit to this special area of France, and while you are here make sure to include this special way of getting to know the French way of life.

A minimum of 4 participants is required to run this tour and the tour is limited to a maximum of 10 participants.
