Learn to cook authentic dishes from southern Italy and Sorrento by participating in hands-on cooking classes in a beautiful professional kitchen. Your passionate and imaginative chef, who also happens to have a huge personality, will share with you the secrets of this cuisine leaving you ready to return home to impress your family and friends. You will stay in a luxurious boutique hotel with a gorgeous view located in the beautiful Sorrento peninsula. The hotel was once an ancient home which has been carefully and tastefully restored offering you incomparable comfort.

 

Choose from a four or six night itinerary both which include hands-on cooking classes, foodie visits and excursions to points of interest in this beautiful area of the Amalfi coast, where the Bay of Naples meets the Bay of Salerno. Clients have told me that this getaway is perfect for those wanting a balance of cooking classes, a bit of sightseeing with enough time to relax and enjoy your surroundings on your own.  Enjoy exquisite food and wine, gorgeous accommodations with an impeccable staff whose main goal is to ensure your comfort.

ITINERARY

 

DAY ONE

 

Pick up from Naples airport.

 

Arrival at your beautiful hotel. You can relax or take a short walk to familiarize yourself with your new surroundings. 

 

Tonight there will be a splendid welcome dinner at the elegant restaurant in the hotel.

 

 

DAY TWO

 

Enjoy a wonderful buffet breakfast of quiches, cheeses, meats, fruit, yogurt, tarts, cakes and much more!

 

In the morning you will head to a local farm, where they have been producing top quality olive oil for years, and where the matriarch has been making mozzarella cheese. A tasting of this wonderfully fresh and light cheese follows, with olive oil and limoncello.

 

Return to the hotel for an afternoon of relaxation.

 

This evening you will enjoy your first cooking lesson, followed by dinner of your creations with wine.

 

 

DAY THREE

 

Breakfast followed by a visit to the Pompeii ruins by train with an English speaking local guide.

 

Light lunch in a very simple trattoria in Sorrento.

 

This evening you will have your second cooking class, followed by dinner with wine.

 

 

DAY FOUR

 

Breakfast followed by a 9am departure to visit the beautiful Amalfi Coast.

 

Today's lunch will be on your own.

 

After your Amalfi tour, return to the hotel to relax until dinner which will be in a charming exclusive restaurant.

 

 

DAY FIVE

 

Breakfast. For those on the four-night program, transfer back to Naples. For those on the 6 night program, your morning is free, perhaps to explore Sant' Agata or Sorrento.

 

Lunch on your own.

 

AT 5pm you will have your third cooking lesson with dinner based on your creations. 

 

 

DAY SIX

 

Breakfast with a departure at 9.45am to visit to the enchanting isle of Capri, weather permitting.

 

Lunch on your own and return to the hotel at around 4pm.

 

Meet in the kitchen about 5.30 pm to make the perfect pizza dough in only 30 minutes. Relax until 8pm until your pizza dinner.

 

 

DAY SEVEN

 

Breakfast and departure from the hotel to the Naples airport or train station for those ending the six-night program.

 

 

 

DAY COOKING CLASS

 

If you already have your accommodation and are unable to participate in the residential cooking program, you can enjoy a morning or afternoon hands-on cooking class at the Relais. The class can begin at 10am if you prefer a morning class, or 4pm if you prefer an afternoon cooking class, and will last about 2 hours.

 

You will learn to make an antipasto (appetizer), fresh pasta as the "primi piatti", a fish or meat dish as the "secondo piatti" and of course dessert (dolce!). Following the class you will enjoy the fruits of your labor and will now be ready to easily replicate at home!
