This tour is for all food and wine lovers who would like to discover traditional Umbrian recipes and great wines! Spend time taking hands-on cooking classes, sampling wine, doing some sightseeing and relaxing in a beautiful villa. Over the years this villa has been the home of nobles. It retains its large fireplaces, frescoes, ancient cotto floors and period furnishings and is the perfect setting for your getaway. 

Enjoy a  two or four night program including cooking classes and/or wine tasting at one of Umbria's well-known producers and  gourmet dinners at a lovely restaurant on premises. Your dinner will be accompanied by selected Umbrian wines from our distinguished selection and competent service by a certified sommelier. 

Your Italian chef, along with a translator, will teach you the secrets of Umbrian and Tuscan cuisine, using the freshest ingredients of the season. Learn to cook traditional dishes that you will easily be able to re-create at home for your friends and family. Cooking classes are held on Mondays, Wednesdays or Fridays only.

TWO NIGHT ITINERARY

Day one

Arrival at the villa which is a beautiful 17th-century patrician villa in the countryside of Umbria. The luxurious country hotel is set in a tranquil setting, overlooking rolling hills and olive groves and invites you to experience its romance and unparalleled comfort. Welcome drink and presentation of the program.

Day two

After breakfast, you will start your cooking class at 10.00am. The hands-on course provides an excellent insight into the preparation of exquisite regional dishes as well as traditional cooking methods. The course has a duration of approximately 3 hours and will be followed by a joint meal. At the end, participants will be provided with a specific recipe booklet on the produced meals.

After breakfast departure.

FOUR NIGHT ITINERARY

Day one

Arrival at the villa which is a beautiful 17th-century patrician villa in the countryside of Umbria. The luxurious country hotel is set in a tranquil setting, overlooking rolling hills and olive groves and invites you to experience its romance and unparalleled comfort.

Welcome drink and presentation of the program. Gourmet dinner at tonight at the hotel restaurant.

Day two

After breakfast, you will start your first cooking class at 10.00am. The hands-on course provides an excellent insight into the preparation of exquisite regional dishes as well as traditional cooking methods. The course has a duration of approximately three hours and will be followed by a joint meal.  

Free evening on your own.

Day three

The third day is dedicated to great Umbrian wines.

After breakfast drive to Torgiano and visit the Lungarotti Foundation’s Wine Museum, one of the most excellent in the world. Giorgio Lungarotti was the first wine producer to export Umbrian wines all over the world, but his fame has grown enormously because of the importance of the collections shown in his museum. Subsequent to the visit of the museum, enjoy a wine tasting in the “Osteria del Museo” which is close by. In the afternoon we suggest you to explore Montefalco, home to the famous “ Sagrantino” wine, and Bevagna. The charming medieval towns will provide for plentiful opportunities to try and  acquire great wines, like Sagrantino “secco” and “passito”,  and further culinary produce. Dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Day four

After breakfast, you will conduct the second part of the cooking class on further brilliant Italian recipes. The lecture will have a duration of approximately three hours and will be followed by a joint meal. At the end of the course clink glasses with the chef, who will provide you  with a specific recipe booklet on produced meals.

Day five

After breakfast departure.  

SPA DAY (*Optional)

The spa completes the offer of this fantastic hotel with luxury beauty treatments as well as a vast variety of massages, aesthetic treatments and exclusive relaxation courses for individuals or couples.
