Umbria, Italy - 1 day, 4 or 7 nights
Available January to June, September to December - Saturday to Saturday

Spend time at a beautiful country home in the heart of Umbria (Perugia). The farm dates back to the 17th century and is surrounded by rolling hills, 10 hectares of olive groves, vineyards, fruit trees and Etruscan and medieval history. Six independent apartments have been restored around the ancient stone house and all are beautifully decorated.

The country home is only 4km from the historic centre of Perugia and offers  a breathtaking view of the Umbrian hills. The proximity to Perugia makes it ideal for visiting other artistic towns in Umbria such as Assisi, Gubbio, Todi, Orvieto and the Trasimeno lake. There is also a lovely swimming pool from which you can enjoy the panoramic view as well as offering the following amenities: Car park, garden, play area for children, outdoor barbecue, sale of wine, olive oil and jams, swimming pool, baby bed. Animals ARE allowed.

Learn to cook authentic Italian dishes in an informal and friendly environment where you will learn the passion of the Italian kitchen. A comprehensive hands-on cookery course will be taught by a local Italian woman who will teach you to make splendid Italian three course dinners covering all the basic Italian cooking techniques. The lessons are given in an apartment on the agriturismo and then meals are taken to your room where you will enjoy your own home cooked Italian cuisine!

In addition to cooking, you will partake in day trips where you will taste extra virgin olive oils, pecorino cheese, Umbrian wines and visit some artistic cities.

**Transfers to and from airport can be arranged on request; however we recommend renting a car, because if you do not want to relax around the pool, you will have time to explore the area. We can help you with suggestions as there are many places with great historical value and beauty in the area. The villa is an 8 minute drive from the closest village so quite remote.

CLIENT REMARKS

"Some of the fondest memories from our trip are at the Agriturismo. Each course was better than the last and it is impossible to pick the best. We learned a lot about the Umbrian way of cooking and can't wait to cook for our friends and family (they can't wait either....)."

"I want to thank you for organizing the most perfect weekend for us. Everything that you planned was even better than I could have hoped for during our stay. First of all, everyone enjoyed their rooms, and especially your family. The cooking class with Teresa is still talked about by the girls - "with passion" is definitely heard in the kitchen. I was very happy to see that during weekend at least three little groups of students pulled out their handouts from the demo and cooked different dishes learned at your agriturismo. All the students continue to tell me what a wonderful time they had. I will definitely make sure that your information remains on file at our University and my director was very impressed with our weekend."

"My husband and I chose to stay at your farmhouse specifically because of the opportunity to take some cooking lessons.  We took 2 days of lessons and had a marvelous time.  Alberta is a wonderful teacher with great background knowledge and an instinct for teaching. Having Raffaella there to translate when necessary was a big help too - even though we managed somewhat with our combination of Spanish, beginning Italian and pantomime.  We had fun, learned some wonderful typical Italian recipes and had 2 evenings of delicious dinners - along with the magnificent farm bottled wine.  We couldn't wait to come home and impress our friends!"

"I highly recommend the cooking classes at the Agriturismo. Our wonderful teacher Alberta was kind and warm. We took three days of lessons and the variety of the food we cooked was remarkable. Alberta provided recipes for everything we made, so I can now cook the meals for my family in California. We felt like we learned Italian family cooking from a superb mamma who had learned from her  mother. The three afternoons we spent in Alberta's kitchen chatting and laughing were the best memories of my trip to Italy. We also thoroughly enjoyed  the stay here which is so well run by helpful Raffaella and her family".
