(Option: Day Cooking Classes)
Sorrento, Italy -  3 or 7 nights
Available year round

Choose from a day cooking class learning traditional Italian cuisine with an emphasis on Neopolitan recipes, or a three or seven night culinary program in spectacular Sorrento, Italy. Your hands-on cooking lessons from your chef will take place in an amazing, private and manicured garden. You will be surrounded by an impressive array of old palms, English meadow, colorful flowers and fountains with lemon and orange trees, a swimming-pool, typical "Pergolato" and ceramic decorations. This beautiful property guarantees you complete privacy during your cooking classes.

After your arrival, you will be welcomed with a fresh glass of orange juice and a flavored plum-cake. Then on to the kitchen area to start a unique experience learning to prepare delicious Italian food. Your chef comes from a noble family and when she was young, she usually assisted her mother in the kitchen to organize parties at home. She learned Napolitean and typical dishes and now has chosen to share her recipes with guests in a warm and relaxed atmosphere.

The cooking class lasts 3 hours and you will learn to prepare an appetizer, first dish, second dish with vegetables of the season and dessert. You will then have a break, visiting the wine cellar and tasting home made wine. You will enjoy a beautiful meal of what you have cooked by the pool or under a Pergolato or, depending on the season, in a nice winter garden by the fireplace.

THREE NIGHT ITINERARY

Day One

Arriving at Naples airport and welcomed by an English speaking driver for a private transfer to the Villa, an amazing setting in private grounds with beautifully manicured gardens, orange and lemon trees, swimming pool, typical "Pergolato" and ceramic decorations, for a briefing about the weekly program. An interpreter / hostess will assist guests during the cooking lesson and will serve lunch at the end of the class.

You will discuss the menus with your chef for your cooking vacation adventure with particular emphasis on Neapolitan recipes. Check-in a bed & breakfast located close to the Villa and evening on your own.

Day Two

After breakfast, we will start with a first cooking class at the Villa, lasting 3 hours, during which you will take a break to visit the wine cellar and taste some excellent homemade wine. At the end your lesson, you will enjoy a beautiful meal of your own cooking by the pool or under a " Pergolato" or in a nice winter garden by a warm fire.

After lunch, departure by private car to a half day visit of Pompeii with professional English speaking guide (entrance fees to the ruins included).

Back to the B&B and evening on your own.

Day Three

After breakfast, we will continue with the second cooking lesson at the Villa. After lunch, you will enjoy by private car and with English speaking driver the unique and super Amalfi Coast. The lush green terraces, suspended over a sparkling sea, the wealth of art and the architectural characteristics, make it one of the most celebrated places on earth. Wild, daring and romantic, the Coast is an obligatory stop in any journey to Italy. Set into the mountain, surrounded by rich Mediterranean vegetation, Positano is so picturesque as to seem a spontaneous stage setting. The town develops vertically. The homes, one on top of the other, are characterised by arched porticos that give onto the sea and are painted in pastel colours, giving in the look of a multifaceted precious stone. It is not for nothing that Positano is called "the gem of the divine coast". The heart and soul of the coast is Amalfi. In the serene blue of the sky and sea, Amalfi, guarded by its port, seems held in the palm of a hand. Above, the scenic drapery of the mountains, hinged like a backdrop, dotted with houses; below, a picturesque weaving of alleys and steps, all the way to the Piazza, where the Cathedral dominates from the top of its majestic stairs. A unique scene, where historic memory intertwines with unforgettable natural beauty.

Then Ravello, famous for its tranquil and serene atmosphere, Ravello offers architectural gems of rare elegance with its Duomo rich with artistic treasures like the grand bronze central door; Villa Rufolo immersed in a verdant park of exotic and Mediterranean flora and Villa Cimbrone a simple hut transformed into an exceptionally fascinating Villa. There is a very special feeling in the cloister of the villa, still showing elements of the ancient Arab Sicilian style it was built in. The belvedere is a terrace that gives on to infinity and has no equal in the world. Back to Sorrento and evening on your own.

Day Four

After breakfast, luggage ready for departure always by private car to Naples airport. End of our services.

CLIENT REMARKS

Thank you for your thoughtfulness in sending us photos from our wonderful visit to the Villa. As you can tell from meeting me and the pictures that highlight my tummy, I enjoy great food and a glass or two of wonderful wine. You and your family team are to be congratulated. It was the highlight of our trip to have the opportunity to share with you your wonderful home and learn so much about Italian cooking. “Putting breadcrumbs on the bottom of the pan so the pasta doesn’t stick,” was a new one for me. Your menu selection was excellent and the food was outstandingly delicious even if I say so myself as one of the cooks – smile. I absolutely cannot understand how you all stay so slim.

You may not understand, but even with all of the great food and wine the highlight of the experience was being able to meet all of the Villa family members. You are true hospitality people and your enthusiasm is absolutely contagious. May I wish you much success with your cooking school endeavour and if you develop a brochure, please be sure to send a few my way. God bless

I wanted to personally thank you for the wonderful experience of sharing your family's home with us today and teaching us how to prepare such a lovely Italian dinner. You, your sister and your cousin are lovely, warm and charming women and you make the experience very special. My thanks to each of you and I wish all of you the very best with your new cooking school. I know you will be very successful.

I hope to return to visit soon, and I hope if you or your family visit San Francisco you will call me. I would love to show you around San Francisco, take you sailing on the Bay, take you hiking on the mountains along the Pacific Ocean and take you wine tasting in the in Sonoma and Napa California - I think you would love it!

Have a wonderful spring and summer season. Grazie mille and warmest regards.
