During your visit, you will visit a cheese factory, a calvados and cider cellar. You will also discover Bayeux, Deauville, Honfleur and Giverny - and of course no visit to Normandy is complete without a visit to the Normandy Landing beaches. In additon to all of this you will enjoy delicious cuisine and even have a private cooking class with a professional chef! So come to Normandy to explore quaint villages, great cuisine, wonderful people and authentic France! 

  

ITINERARY 

DAY ONE 

ARRIVAL IN BAYEUX

Check-in to your charming guest house in Bayeux:

Built in the 19th century, this charming guest house is a house of character. Its walled garden is planted with century-old trees, including a magnificent Lebanon cedar. In a part of the house, with an independent entrance, there are 3 guest rooms. Each room has its own private bathroom with bath and toilet. Located in Bayeux, the guest house is a 5-minute walk from the train station, the famous Tapestry, the cathedral and the city center with its many restaurants, creperies and brasseries. The private and closed parking lot can welcome guests' car for free.

Lunch at a local bistro (a 15-minute walk / 7-minute drive from your guest house)

For over 35 years, this bistro has been serving traditional cuisine in Bayeux. Discover a prestigious establishment in the heart of Normandy, near Caen and Saint-Lô, not far from the beaches and the Bayeux Tapestry Museum. This restaurant offers a refined cuisine in a typical Parisian brasserie setting. Enjoy a traditional French cuisine of quality with recipes elaborated from fresh produce.

Afternoon – Private guided tour of Bayeux, Deauville and Honfleur 

Enjoy a 2-hour private tour of Bayeux with your guide: stroll along the old streets, smell the air of the Cooks and Milk streets, plug your noses in the Dyers and Butchers streets… the vibrant life of the past was full of smells and activity and noises. You can even enjoy some gourmet shopping while learning all about the history of the city.

NORMANDY LANDING BEACHES

Morning – Full day guided tour at the Normandy Landing Beaches 

Meeting with your English-speaking local guide at the guest house and departure for a full day discovering the Landing Beaches, on the footsteps of the Allied soldiers who landed in Normandy on June 6th, 1944. This one-day visit will allow you to discover two sectors (to be decided in advance according to your interests), for example: 

Omaha beach and the American landing on D-Day, the US military cemetery of Colleville-sur-Mer, overlooking the beach of Omaha, lunch in the very pleasant harbour of Port-en-Bessin, the German gun battery of Longues-sur-mer, Arromanches and the artificial harbour (approx. 8-9 hours including driving time).

DAY FOUR 

  

EXPERIENCE OF THE REGIONAL CUISINE 

Breakfast at your guest house and transfer to Lessay (a 1-hour and 10-minute drive)

Morning - Visit a Cheese Factory (This visit is not private, other visitors may join)

This cheese factory makes you discover and share its know-how through a guided tour. A unique concept where the visitor can discover the museum of the cheese factory and its collection of old labels, see a film on their history and discover the manufacture of their products thanks to the glass corridors. These glassed-in areas allow visitors to see the different stages in the production of the Camembert de Normandie PDO cheese made from raw milk, and in particular the traditional hand-molding of this cheese. The visit ends with a tasting of their famous PDO Camembert.

For this visit, the entries will have to be paid on site: 3.30 € per person.

Lunch at a bistronomic and bucolic restaurant (a 1-hour and 10-minute drive)

Located in the heart of the century-old park of the hotel La Chenevière, in the former orangery of the Château, this bistronomic restaurant has a "British" inspired atmosphere, combined with an exceptional collection of green plants. As for the cuisine, the menu is based on the seasons, the vegetables from the garden are key, and the flavours and freshness of the produce are highlighted.

DAY FIVE 

DISCOVERY OF DEAUVILLE & HONFLEUR

Breakfast at your guest house and transfer to Saint Philibert des Champs (a 1-hour and 20-minute drive)

Morning – Private Cooking Class with a Chef 

Enjoy a cooking class workshop in a friendly and warm atmosphere. A Chef will be your guide throughout this workshop. She will share with you all her know-how and the secrets behind the gastronomic history of Normandy. During this workshop you will prepare a three-dish meal (starter, main course and dessert) and will enjoy your own creation for lunch at the end of it. 

Free time to discover Deauville (a 1-hour drive) and the Port of Honfleur.

DAY SIX 

FROM BAYEUX TO GIVERNY

Breakfast at your guest house and transfer to Cambremer (1-hour drive)

Morning - Visit and tasting of a cider and calvados cellar (This visit is not private, other visitors may join)

On the way to Giverny (2.5-hour drive) you will stop for a tasting visit of a cider cellar. In a typical setting with its manor and apple trees, discover a family-owned distillery where cider but also Calvados, Pommeau and apple juice are made. Of course, a tasting will end the tour. 

Lunch at a gourmet restaurant of Cambremer (3 minutes from the cider cellar)

In a pleasant and warm setting, in the heart of the Pays d'Auge, the restaurant offers a gourmet local cuisine delicately prepared by the owner of the restaurant. A devoted team will ensure that you spend a pleasant moment with your family, in a group or alone.

Afternoon - Visit of the house and gardens of Claude Monet (almost a 2-hour drive)

Arrival at Giverny and visit of the house and gardens of Claude Monet 

Claude Monet lived in this house from 1883 to 1926. Passionate about gardening as much as about colours, he designed his flower garden and his water garden as real works. Walking through his garden and his house, visitors always feel its special atmosphere.

After breakfast, it's time to say a fond farewell.
