Croatia is one of the most popular foodie tourist destinations in the world. We have created this program for those who wish to explore Dalmatia through its vineyards, kitchens and countrysides. You will discover the area through guided city tours, private wine tastings, hands on cooking classes and a chef guided market visit.

You will see beautiful lakes, caves, waterfalls and breathtaking sunsets and will experience the modern city of Zagreb and the island of Brač. And no visit here would be complete without seeing amazing Split and the walled city of Dubrovnik.

ITINERARY 

Day One 

 

ARRIVAL ZAGREB

 

Private transfer from Zagreb Airport to your hotel. After settling in your hotel, a private guided tour of Zagreb will be organized. Zagreb is a modern city with Medieval roots, rich with history, culture and filled with museums. Zagreb is truly a Central European capital becoming a tourist destination in itself. After the tour, dinner will be organized in one of the top Zagreb restaurants.

Day Two

 

ZAGREB-TRAKOSCAN CASTLE-VUGLEC BREG WINERY WINE TASTING 

  

After breakfast, departure to one of the most beautiful locations in Croatia - Trakošćan Castle site. It is a 13th century hilltop castle and has been renovated in the neo-Gothic style in the 1850s. Explore the museum inside and imagine how splendid it must have been to live in the castle. Enjoy a walk in the park with a lake below the castle.

 

After the tour of the castle your next stop will be one of the best wineries in Croatia - Vuglec Breg. Located in the middle of Zagorje region, it produces sparkling wines with a traditional champagne method, which have won numerous awards including Decanter, as well as other traditional wine sorts of continental Croatia such as Chardonnay, Riesling, and other indigenous varieties.

  

A wine tasting, after the tour of the winery, will offer a great introduction in the world of Croatian wines and will provide a background in the history of the wine producing tradition as well as a contrast to different varieties of coastal Croatia. For lunch traditional roasted duck and other local dishes will be served.

 

Return to Zagreb in the evening.

Day Three

 

ZAGREB - PLITVICE - ZADAR

In the morning you will continue your tour to Dalmatia and the city of Zadar. On your way you will stop at NP Plitvice Lakes. Breathtakingly beautiful, Plitvice Lakes is a UNESCO World Heritage site and oldest national park in Croatia. The waters flowing over the limestone and chalk have, over thousands of years, deposited travertine barriers, creating natural dams which in turn have created a series of beautiful lakes, caves and waterfalls.

Walk on wooden bridges and drive on electric boats so that you can experience firsthand this nature's wonder. After NP Plitvice a traditional lunch will be organized and afterwards continue to the town of Zadar.

 

Enjoy a free evening overlooking magical Zadar sunset once described by Alfred Hickock as the most beautiful one in the world.

DAY FOUR


ZADAR - NP KRKA WITH WINE & PROSCIUTTO TASTING - SPLIT

  

A tour of Zadar will be organized in the morning with a visit to the Museum of Ancient Glass. There you will experience a demonstration of the ancient method of blowing glass and manufacturing with the only master currently in Croatia.

 

After the tour of Zadar transfer to nearby National Park Krka. You will travel with your luxury Mercedes vehicle to Skradin where you will relax at your own pace exploring the stunning Krka National Park and strolling among amazing waterfalls. After the National Park you will visit a local winery and have your own private wine tasting and stroll through the vineyard. With expert guidance of the winemaker learn about local wine varieties, some of the best in Croatia, and how Skradin area due to its climate and terroir is ideal for wine production. Next stop will be to visit the local smoked ham-prosciutto producer for a degustation. You will discover the secrets of making this delicious treasure-recently protected by EU.

 

Arrival to Split in the early evening.

DAY FIVE 

SPLIT - COOKING CLASS


After breakfast you will experience first hand the Croatian culinary tradition with your own private cooking class. Located in the center of Split, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the cooking class starts by walking through Split's green and fish market. Popularly known as "pazar" green market is the informal center of the town. Rich sights and sounds intertwine with strong characters of produce sellers, locals doing their everyday shopping for lunch and bystanders observing this Mediterranean heart of the city.

  

Same can be said of the fish market. Local fishermen brings the catch of the day and early in the morning this vibrant and colorful exchange of words - banter starts and ends when you pick your fish. Your walk with the Chef will include him teaching you his "insider" secrets on how to pick fresh seasonal ingredients and the best fish of the day. Depending on the market and offer of the day you will continue to prepare a 3 course meal. Along with food selection, Croatian wine will be served. 

 

After resting a bit in your hotel in the afternoon/early evening private guided tour of Split old town will be organized.

DAY SIX

 

ISLAND OF BRAC - COOKING CLASS - GOURMET DISCOVERY

  

After an early breakfast, you will be picked up by your driver and will take a short 50 minute ferry ride to the island. Throughout the day, you will discover the astonishing nature of Brač Island where you will get to know its gastronomic beauty, culture and traditional way of living.


Your first stop will be a unique location among the olive trees where you will learn about olive oil production, taste different varieties of olive oil and have a private cooking class in a traditional stone house built right there in the olive grove. This cooking class will offer insight into the traditions of an island so close to Split but so different.

 

The second stop will be Vidova Gora, the highest peak of Brac island and highest peak of any Croatian islands in general. From there you can enjoy stunning view of the islands such as Hvar, Vis, Solta and others, the Dalmatian coast continuing down south to Dubrovnik and the world famous Golden Horn beach in small village of Bol.

 

Bol will be your last stop where you will have your private wine tasting and tour of the wine cellar at one of the best wineries in Croatia. Wine types you will be tasting are “Posip” and “Plavac Mali” or Little Blue, two of the best wine varieties in Dalmatia. Decanter award winning wines will be the perfect end of your exploration of the island after which you will head back for your ferry ride back to Split.

 

Return to Split in the early evening.

DAY SEVEN

 

SPLIT - GOURMET EXPERIENCE - DUBROVNIK


In the morning after breakfast, check out of your hotel and you will continue to Dubrovnik. On route to there, you will stop in one of the best wineries in Croatia located on the hills rising from the Adriatic Sea. After the tour of the cellar and the winery you will enjoy a unique gastronomic experience of combining fine food with excellent wines all produced in the vineyard located around you - a true gourmet experience. A 4 course meal overlooking Adriatic and the islands will be the high point of your discovery of Croatian dishes and wine.

 

After your tour and lunch continue towards Dubrovnik. Arrival in the early evening.

DAY EIGHT 

  

DUBROVNIK

After breakfast a private guided tour of the city will be organized. Irish author George Bernard Shaw wrote, “Those who seek paradise on Earth must come to Dubrovnik.” The Old Town protected by city walls is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. A walk along the ramparts reveals a different view of the Elafiti Islands and Old Town.

On your tour with your local guide you will see Onofrio fountain, the city bell tower and numerous medieval buildings. After the tour lunch will be organized in one of the best restaurants in Dubrovnik and all of Croatia.

Free afternoon and evening.

DAY NINE

 

DUBROVNIK & DEPARTURE

After breakfast private transfer to Dubrovnik Airport for your flight.
