Stay at a wonderful four star hotel, enjoy private visits, partake in a cooking class with a chef at a beautiful chateau and of course Bordeaux wouldn't be Bordeaux without learning about and tasting the fine wines for which this region is famous. 

During your four night stay, you will have a private wine cellar visit and tasting, a hands-on cooking class with a professional chef, an exciting boat trip, delicious meals, guided visits of Bordeaux and Saint-Emilion and much more.

You can choose between having a private chauffeur for your entire stay that will provide transfers and transportation or you can choose to hire a car and arrive on your own to the hotel and the various destinations. Please inquire.  

   

ITINERARY



Day One - WELCOME TO BORDEAUX

Morning arrival at Bordeaux airport - Meet your *private driver and transfer to your 4-star hotel in the center of Bordeaux

Private guided visit of Bordeaux (walking tour, can be organized in the afternoon, according to your arrival time)

Discovery of the historical center, listed a UNESCO World Heritage Site with your private English-speaking guide. Through this visit, you will have the opportunity to discover one of the largest examples of 18th and 19th century architecture and sumptuous stone facades decorated with mascarons and sculpted arches.

Enjoy a nice lunch made of seasonal and local fresh produce. 

Optional visit of the permanent tour of La Cité du Vin 

Embark on an immersive, sensory adventure to discover the cultures and civilizations of wine. In an open exhibition space occupying more than 3,000 m², nearly twenty different themed areas invite you to take a voyage of discovery and enjoy a unique experience exploring the many and varied facets of wine across time and space. 

A visit to the permanent tour also includes the travel companion, a free, innovative tool available in eight languages and the access to La Cité du Vin’s Belvedere, where you will discover a 360° view of Bordeaux whilst tasting a glass of world wine.

Day two - MEDOC: FRENCH ART DE VIVRE

Breakfast at your hotel - Transfer to the Médoc with your *private driver

Cooking class, followed by a private wine paired lunch at the Château

The cooking class conducted by the Chef, is one of the most popular activities of the property. Everyone, whether professional or amateur, can extend its culinary knowledge while having a wonderful and entertaining time with the chef. The cuisine is simple but very original and always made of seasonal and local produce. 

Cellar visit and tasting at a Château, Grand Cru Classé, Pauillac or Saint-Julien Appellation

Follow your guide through a presentation of the Château’s history and the vineyard. Enjoy a unique “total immersion” experience in the winery and cellars.

Dinner in one of the oldest restaurants of Bordeaux

You will discover in the oldest restaurant of Bordeaux, an incredible rockery decor dating from 1901. Your guides will tell you the many stories of this place where all the great people of the world, artists and politicians (Toulouse Lautrec, Sarah Bernhard, Aristide Briand, Alphonse XIII, Clémenceau...) met and had their habits. Today, its chef, brings the tradition of French haute cuisine to the stage and works with the best producers in the region to offer a reinvented, generous and tasty cuisine.

Day Three - arcachon bay and local produce

Breakfast at your hotel - Transfer to Arcachon with your *private driver and your guide. 

Boat trip on the Arcachon Bay on a traditional Pinasse & stop over to taste oyster (3h)

Enjoy a boat ride on the Bassin d’Arcachon on a Pinasse, a traditional local boat. Discover the beautiful « île aux Oiseaux » (birds’ island) between sky and sea, the majestic “cabanes tchanquées”, build on stilts in the middle of the sea, the oyster beds, the Cap-Ferret peninsula and his picturesque fishermen villages, the Pyla Dune, the highest of Europe…

Spending a day in Arcachon, oyster tasting is a must-do! In a small traditional oyster farm, meet producers passionate about their work and taste the oysters freshly outputs of the Arcachon bay.

Between Dune du Pyla and pine forest, La Coorniche restaurant enjoys an exceptional location, overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and the Bay of Arcachon, with direct access to a beautiful sandy beach. This panoramic restaurant, designed by Philippe Stark, invites you to enjoy delicious regional dishes, between sky and sea, while admiring the beautiful landscape.


Free time to climb the Pyla Sand Dune

Climb the Pyla’s Sand Dune, the highest Sand Dune in Europe. Enjoy its amazing views on the ocean, the bay and the forest! Be brave enough to walk down the dune and put one foot (or more!) into the water…

Day Four - great wines of saint-emilion

Breakfast at your hotel - Transfer to Saint-Emilion with your *private driver

 

Private visit of a Grand Cru winery followed by a blending workshop (available on week days only) OR by a Vertical Tasting (available every day, week-end included)

Upon your arrival, you will walk towards the vineyard with a member of the property to see the ancient dry stone terraces and appreciate the breathtaking view of the northern clay and limestone hills of Saint-Emilion. In the cellars, you will learn about the château’s winemaking particularities while visiting the vat facility, barrel fermenting room and the underground aging cellar. 

Your visit will be ended by a wine blending workshop: Varietals tasting from different terroirs of Saint Emilion and Pomerol.

Taste a series of 5 vintages of different Saint-Emilion Grands Crus and experience how unique every year can be.

Picnic at the Château

On the terrace or in the park, you will then enjoy a picnic with fresh seasonal produce (such as charcuterie, salad, cheese, fruit, bread and sweets), while admiring vineyards all around you. Lunch includes 1 glass of wine and soft drinks. You can also select a bottle of your favorite wine to pair with your plate from the château’s wine list (extra charge).

  

Cellar visit and tasting at a Château, Grand Cru Classé, Saint-Emilion Appellation

Discover the long history and taste the wines of this prestigious château during a private commented visit. You will discover the spectacular vat room and the beautiful barrel cellar, allying tradition and modernity.

Private guided visit of Saint-Emilion’s underground monuments

A local guide will take you through the medieval cobblestone’s streets, from the city’s ramparts to the heart of the ancient monasteries. 

He will explain the background of Saint-Emilion’s unique underground monuments. The tour covers several centuries of history and legend from the time of the monk Emilion to the carving out of the amazing monolithic church. You will be able to see paintings in the Chapelle de la Trinité and learn the secrets of the catacombs. This visit to four major monuments amounts to a condensed history of Saint Emilion!

Dinner in a bistronomic restaurant on the famous Place de la Bourse

This modern bistro with a magnificent view on the Place de la Bourse welcomes you in a sober and elegant room. The chef offers a generous and inventive regional bistronomic cuisine guided by the choice of seasonal products.
